How You Can Help

There are lots of different ways you can help our rescue dogs

Volunteer and sponsor a kennel

DO SOMETHING WONDERFUL TODAY; Sponsor a Kennel

BABBINGTON DOG RESCUE has been running since 1995 and has grown to be the only full service independent dog rescue in the UK. Now finding homes for over 1% of the UK abandoned dogs. Over 1000 dogs passed through the centre in 2016.

We are a not for profit Community Interest Company, this is because we have to trade to create money to run the rescue. Local donations last year totalled 8% of our needs the remaining £220,000 we had to create ourselves, on top of this we also have to find any monies for capital projects.

The main ways we trade for running costs is to take in stray and abandoned dogs from our five local councils, re-homing fees, on site shop and over a thousand pounds per week subsidy from our on site boarding kennels.

We completed a major capital project to replace our main rescue block at a subsidised cost of £97k. The job was completed in April 2013. Due to our bankers failing to help with the full 30% of the funding as previously agreed we found ourselves £30k short, the Directors and the Kennels came up with the remainder of the money, through earnings and redirecting pension monies.

We continue every year to upgrade and renew accommodation. We continue to upgrade and increase outside facilities for the dogs.

We rarely ask for financial help, YOU can help our capital needs by sponsoring one of the 38 kennels for £250 (just £5 per week) for the year from April to March each year.  You will have a brass plaque on the kennel with the inscription of your choice.

At an average stay of 28 days your kennel will be directly responsibly for 13 dogs getting new homes each year.

Support our Shop and Cafe

In 2012 we built a dog shop and cafe to help raise funds to keep the rescue open. The shop sells a variety of dog beds, toys, treats, and food.  We may many top brand foods such as JWB, Burns, Pedigree, Beta and Skinners all at low prices.  When you shop with us you know that your money is going towards a good cause.

We also have an area with bric-a-brac and a tombola running at all times; we are always looking for donations towards these.

Within the shop is a small area where we have cold/hot drinks, sandwiches, crisps, chocolate and ice creams on sale.

We also have a small child's outside playframe for children up to 10 years old and an outside eating area.
