The Process

If you see a dog on our website or Facebook page you are interested in please email us at babbington21@btopenworld.com for more information, as we are currently working on invitation only to see a rescue dog.

You may view their behavioural assessments that are carried out by our qualified staff (animal care qualifications), and see if we have any veterinary information on the dog.

Once you have chosen a dog, we ask you to fill in a 'form of interest' on the dog; the team then checks the form to see if your home will suit the dog's needs.  If it does, then we will arrange a 'Home check'.  After this home check has been successfully passed, you can arrange to collect your new dog.

Please note that your garden MUST be secure with fencing of at least 5 foot in height.  (your home will not pass the home check if this is not the case).

We ask that you adopt the dog within 7 days of your home check - we regret that we cannot reserve a dog if this is not the case.  We are constantly receiving new homeless dogs so need to keep as much accommodation available as possible.

If you are interested in a rescue dog, you can call us any day between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm 7 days a week on 0115 9324576, or you can email us at babbington21@btopenworld.com

The Costs - Adoption Fees

All of our fees include:

  • Full vaccinations including Kennel Cough
  • Flea treatment
  • Worming treatment
  • Identi Tag
  • Micro-Chip
  • Spey/Neuter
  • 4 Weeks Insurance

The costs of this are covered by the Rescue's owners as we get no financial help from The Dogs Trust or other charities (unlike some local pounds). To do all of the above for just one dog costs Babbington Rescue £200.  In addition we have to cover the cost of keeping the dog, paying staff, electricity, water, food, heating, bedding etc.
